A Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Christina C. Jones

Glad this was short or I wouldn't have powered through. The characters were meh, the drama was unnecessary (Simone was totally in the right btw), Simone's family dynamic, which obviously plays a huge role in her psyche, went completely unexplored, and sprinkled throughout were editors notes (not very useful ones) that make it clear that this was not a final draft. Not my first CCJ book, and I wasn't terribly impressed last time either. Ready to give it up and free up the space on my KU list.

Good story

Nice to see the side of how it all plays out when people really see how vindicative folks can be when you are really just trying to just be nice to them. Glad That Roman finally saw what was happening it almost was too late. Love the way he loved Simone. This author always tells a great story.

2.5 stars?

I've read now, 4 books by Christina C. Jones -- including a later book in this series -- and this is the first I have not jived with. So she is definitely a great writer this just wasn't the book for me. More info as to why under spoilers... a bit ranty, apparently I had more feelings than I thought.

SpoilerBoy oh boy did I not understand this books pregnancy plots? I especially do not understand the concept of getting pregnant accidentally *twice* and even though you miscarried the first before you knew you were pregnant, when it happens the SECOND TIME still just being like "oh hey guess we're having a baby" with literally no conversation about it?? Family planning who? Not these people apparently. Baffling. Like not a single conversation was had about like "hey this is a BABY we are about to bring into the world, a BABY. WHO IS GOING TO DEPEND ON US FOR AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF ITS LIFE AND PROBABLY MORE THAN THAT AND ALSO WE HAVE TO RAISE IT AND WE BOTH OWN OUR OWN BUSINESSES AND THAT MAY BE A LITTLE HARD TO NAVIGATE MAYBE" Holy hell straight people what are you doing.

Furthermore, there was a whole wealth of angst concerning Simone's upbringing that was teased but not explored? Instead the main angst of the book was about her best friend who was in a coma, like... okay, that's sad, and maybe if we didn't have more interesting baggage to explore I would have cared more but maybe instead we should have explored the whole "my dad clearly didn't love me, and has always been unfaithful to my mom and this is why I have trust issues" thing that is actually RELEVANT to the RELATIONSHIP considering this book is a ROMANCE.

Miss Jones don't miss! Super exciting to be able to read one of her very old works and find it to be equally as brilliant as her more recent works.  I won't lie I screamed
I found out Roman was still living with the mother of his child and failed to mention cause IKYFL
Howeve ,  the storyline development and sweetness of the story won me back over and the resulotiin left me overall  satisfied.  I also do wish
the proposal hadn't been laced with her doubts but that's just because I be wanting the perfect nice neat happily ever after. Also, I aint forgiving that damn heffa Leah EVER. OLE LOW DOWN SCALLYWAG.
This is a 4.5 for me but I'm rounding up because it's my review and I can do what I want lololol

If the MC was my friend in real life I would call her stupid as hell for her relationship with Roman. Three stars is being nice because the only thing I took from this relationship is that it couldn’t be me.

Roman & Simone get a 5/5 for their chemistry, because baybeeehhh it was H O T! For me, I feel like it was so much overthinking going on in this book. Simone second guessed herself and the relationship she had with Roman a lot. Frankly, it was getting exhausting to read after a while. One thing I will say, is that she was spot on about Leah!!!! Like dead on about her!! Although she explained in the end, she made an adult decision & I would have had to be apart of the adult consequences. Carter, gave really great advice to Simone & became a really good friend even after trying to pursue her which made me happy.
