I had quite a time trying to understand the slang and dialect. Thank god for footnotes. Some pretty funny parts of this book! Of course, it was difficult to read their treatment of Jim. Especially since Huck and Tom are teenagers? Give them two years and they could very well be parents at that age in 1840!
Read this in preparation for James by Percival Everett.
