I just love to read about reading. i think the Japanese section was a little much but it was like exactly the weird sexual shit that murakami does... So much so that it came off as satire rather than gross

I read this book on recommendation from a close friend. Like many books that are more lyrical than plot-driven, If on a Winter's Night a Traveler took its time reeling me in but was well worth it in the end. Calvino's writing is intentional down to the final sentence, and this book is an invitation for his readers to be equally intentional in their reading.

what an incredibly unique book! even though confusing, this book continued to peak my interest and I loved reading it, I will say in the middle-end of the book it almost lost me and bought it down to a 4/3.5 star but in the end the ending brought it up to a 4.5, honestly I think the beginning felt like a 5 star book to me but through the middle it just got a bit messy but still enjoyable, I don’t think I’ll ever read a book again like it. Truly felt like Calvino wrote a love story about books and captured so many reading experiences
