Wayyyyy too long. I skimmed the last 100 pages just reading the dialogue and still got the gist.

The mystery was intriguing, but the twists so-so.

The wording was a little repetitive sometimes. Phrases like "I tossed and turned in bed all night. I slipped out of the bed blablabla." I remember this paragraph where Will's name was mentioned four times in like three sentences.

I just love twisty, spooky psychological thrillers, this is perfect for night time reading as it did give me chills a few times.

My advice, don’t ask questions, don’t try to “make sense of it” even in real life some things don’t make sense so just enjoy it for what it is, a fictional story meant to entertain you.

The story is mainly told from three perspectives. Sadie, Camille and Mouse take turns telling the story and through some twists and turns we find out the big TWIST at the end. I was totally fooled and thought the book was going in another direction when if fact it was not.

Sadie, her husband Will and two kids Tate and Otto move from Chicago to Maine, all we know at first is that Will’s sister died and they are moving to take care of her daughter Imogen “a very unpleasant teenager” and live in her house. Will, apparently has been cheating and this is a good way to “start fresh”.

Soon after they move their neighbor Morgan is murdered, shaking the whole town and most of all Sadie. She is totally paranoid, because she believes the killer is still nearby, in her own home even.

The story slowly unravels and we start seeing parts that we didn’t know before. More about Chicago and what went on there, why they really had to leave and what really happened to Will’s sister.

There are many many twists at the end of the book, which I loved and can’t tell you because that would ruin it, while I see other people trying to reason they way through. I don’t think you can do that with this book. Some things you just need to let go of and enjoy.
