Started it as an audiobook. Couldn't really get into the story because of the narrator

this book kept my attention but lost me a bit in the details. the tension was high for a lot of the novel so i wanted to know what happened next, and the twist towards the end genuinely surprised me. i liked being able to contemplate how reliable sadie was as a narrator through most of the book. however, the writing was repetitive at times, making me feel like i’d already read a very similar sentence with the same info. i also grew to dislike sadie, feeling like she was quick to judge others and not having a ton of empathy for imogen. there were also some things she did that felt so unnecessary, like she could’ve just talked to someone instead of doing what she did. there were also some things that felt a bit hard to believe, and a decent amount of things felt unresolved (won’t mention specifically because of spoilers). it was an entertaining story overall, but it just kinda left me hoping for more from it.

I read The Other Mrs. for Thriller Lovers Book club this month, and this is my second Mary Kubica book after She's Not Sorry. I don't mind the premise behind Kubica's thrillers, but I think she should focus less on trying to add too many twists and focus on developing the plot, so the ending seems more realistic. I would only recommend The Other Mrs. if you like other books by Kubica and unlikeable protagonists. I still had questions at the end of the book and didn't care enough to see if they were answered throughout.
What Didn't Work for Me
My first big issue was the Mouse storyline. It seems like that was one of Sadie's personalities, but what was the backstory there? Also, how was this relevant to the plot? If it was just there as a red herring to make it seem like Morgan was Fake Mom, then that type of device is annoying to me, as the dad in the Mouse stories seemed very similar to Mr. Baines.
Next, I'm not well-versed on DID, so I would need it explained to me how it asw possible for Camille to have seen Sadie or have been roommates with her. And, if Sadie created having a roommate and was just arguing with herself, I don't see how that would have gone undetected. In particular, I don't think Sadie could have gotten through medical school without detection. While I'm not opposed to the DID storyline, I think Camille should have gotten more chapters, so the reader could see similarities between Sadie and Camille.
Generally, I prefer when connections come earlier in books and less red herrings. I also really didn't like Sadie's character as a woman and as a mother, so I wasn't rooting for her to figure anything out, and her solo investigations just annoyed me.

This woman can really write thrillers! The build up was so good and the twist literally made my jaw drop.
Meh. Listened to the audiobook version, which was awkwardly read by an actor who I really thought was an AI. Overall a good mystery but I figured out the ending early on.

It was good but maybe a little long. The twists were definitely twisting and the turns were definitely turning. I figured out part, but still did not see a few things coming at all

In my opinion, this was slow paced and I wish I DNFed it. Although, I did find the plot twist to be entertaining and shocking, the overall book fell flat for me.
