Wish I had liked this more. Unfortunately I found it entirely too long for a story that never grabbed me and fairly predictable.
AB. I was so enamored by this until the last few chapters. The setup and plot was just normal enough with some question marks that I couldn’t stop listening. Towards the end though, the twists and turns felt like an unnecessary can of worms that made me quit buying into it all together. The ending saved it from being a complete flop but I just couldn’t get on board with the jerky, out-of-nowhere twists. Full disclosure: I somehow randomly picked two books in row that exhibited the same psychological theme, and I didn’t like the first one, so this one had me rolling my eyes and asking how I managed to pull off such an annoying feat.

Parts of this were so slow which is why it took me forever to read. But the last 70 pages... WOW. Couldn’t put it down. There were even parts that surprised me.
3.75 stars. I enjoyed this until it got towards the end where it got kind of messy to me.
