The Other Mrs. by Mary Kubica 🌫️

What. Did. I. Just. Read.

Mary Kubica does it again with The Other Mrs., pulling readers into a tangled web of secrets, deception, and psychological unease that made me question everything—and everyone.

When Sadie and her family move to a small, eerie town in Maine, the tension builds fast. A neighbor is found dead, whispers stir, and nothing is what it seems. Sadie is unraveling—both the mystery and herself—and as the reader, you’re left doubting reality right alongside her.

The atmosphere? Thick with dread.
The twists? Absolute jaw-droppers.
The ending? One of those reveals that makes you flip back through the pages wondering how you missed it.

Kubica plays masterfully with unreliable narration, subtle clues, and chilling suspense. While the pacing lags in a few middle chapters, the payoff is well worth it—and then some. This is one of those reads that crawls under your skin and stays there long after the final page.

✨ 4.5 stars for the eerie setting, creeping paranoia, and an ending that gave me literal chills. Kubica fans, don’t miss this one.

Good book. I didn’t guess/figure it out until nearly the end. It does feel like there are some books now that use the troupe of mental health into the horror section. Glad that this didn’t end how I originally though.

I can’t really pinpoint why, but I just didn’t really like this one. I found it somewhat predictable and had a good idea of how the story would pan out pretty early on. I also didn’t find any of the characters terribly likable.
