This was a really good story. I loved Kane and Daisy thought they were a forbidden romance they still had their way when they were younger. Kane was Daisy’s older brother’s best friend. They actually got another shot now as adults but it was no easy thing. Daisy was living with her brother because well she has an illness. Kane gets to see her on and off the ice as she’s the new mascot. I really enjoyed their back and forth and their denial of the feelings they had. Daisy’s illness was very detailed and I liked knowing how she had to readjust her life. The steamy scenes were epic with these two. The narrators with all this characters did so amazing and really made my ears turn red with those scenes. The narration and story were very well done and I really enjoyed it.

Brother's best friend is now my favorite trope and I have Rush the Edge to thank. The tension between the MCs is superbly with forbidden desire and angsty "I'm supposed to hate you but I can't" energy and it is just delectable. Especially when they give in. Ugh 🫦
A sports romance with just enough sports action + swoony romance = a new top-tier series recommendation, from me!
And audiobook narrators that will make you drool. Honestly, while I'm 10/10 positive the reading experience is excellent when you use your eyeballs, if you have the chance to use your ears for this one, please, PLEASE do so.
**Thank you to Valentine PR and SJ Sylvis for an ALC of Rush the Edge and the opportunity to leave my honest, voluntary review! All thoughts and opinions are my own.**

Rush the Edge by SJ Sylvis
SJ Sylvis has become the queen of angsty, slow burn hockey romances in my opinion, and this story delivered everything I love: childhood friends, enemies to lovers, workplace romance and a hero whose walls slowly crumble thanks to the heroine’s persistence.
Kane and Daisy’s relationship felt so layered and emotional . I ate up their banter, tension, the push and pull, and I especially loved the thoughtful autoimmune representation.
The audiobook narration was phenomenal. Lilly Drake perfectly captured Daisy’s spark, vulnerability and growth. Aiden Snow delivered Kane with his signature deep, commanding voice that always draws me in, balancing Kane’s intensity with his tenderness.
This has quickly become a new favorite hockey romance series, and I can’t wait to keep going.
Thank you so much to @sjsylvisauthor and @valentine_pr_ for the opportunity to listen and review this gifted audiobook for my honest opinion.

Rush the Edge is book 3 in the Blue Devils Hockey series. Daisy & Kane had a secret fling a long time ago and they didn't quite end on good terms. Now they're back in the same town and tension is high! They were so angry at each other while at the same time trying to fight their feelings. She most definitely crawled her way under Kane's skin and made herself comfortable. He tried so hard to stay away but she's irresistible to him. I loved their back and forth teasing of each other... and the caretaking! Swoon!! When they finally give in, it's hot hot hot!

Thank you S.J. Sylvis and Valentine PR for providing me an early copy of this audiobook. All opinions are my own.
Daisy has just moved to Chicago to be closer to her brother, and treatments for her recently diagnosed Lupus, but nobody told her that her brother’s best friend/the guy who took her v-card/the boy who’s heart she broke 6 years ago, was going to be living upstairs! 🫣
Ok, first things first, I absolutely LOVED that the job Kane got her (out of spite, no less) was the position of mascot for the Blue Devils! 🤣🤣 No joke, I was cackling. And I think I fell in love with Daisy when she went all-in on the job, just to spite him right back. 👏
So yes, there was a bit of a “bully”-ish aspect to this one, as Kane didn’t take it too well to when she brushed him off after a night that was actually very meaningful to him, because he has been down-bad for Daisy since they were kids.
I loved their back and forth, and the bantering, and when things heated up, it heated up fast.
I’ve just been loving this series, and as I was listening to this one, I was absolutely falling for Kane’s roommate, Malaki, and hoping he would be getting a book, and I just peeped that his book is coming out in October, and now I cannot wait! 🙌
Audiobook notes: LOVED Aiden Snow! He did a fabulous job with Kane! Lilly Drake was a new-to-me narrator, and not sure if it’s just me, but it sounded like she maybe had a bit of an accent(?), that kind of transferred over to everyone else. It definitely wasn’t bad or anything, it just took a bit of adjusting. Otherwise, I thought she had a great voice for Daisy.
What this book is giving:
✅ Hockey Romance
✅ Dual POV
✅ Older Brother’s Best Friend
✅ Neighbors to Lovers
✅ Sneaking Around
✅ She’s the New Mascot
✅ Lupus Rep

It felt like they couldn't have atleast a few emotional moments without it turning sexual and it was annoying
S.J. knows how to write tension and man did she bring it with this one! I was hooked from the start and could not put it down!
Daisy and Kane are the definition of hate to love!! The tension and angst that came with that made this story so incredible!! They fought their feelings for each other so hard and the push and pull between them was done so well!! They played games with each other and it always backfired. The possessive side of Kane was everything I needed! I admired Daisy's character so much! She was strong and independent but knew when to let Kane in to help. AND when he took care of her??? Talk about swoon! He was a puddle for her and I ate it up! They had amazing chemistry and the banter was so good!! Loved this one!
AUDIO: This was narrated by Aiden Snow and Lilly Drake and I LOVED it! They portrayed the tension and chemistry between Daisy and Kane sooo well!!! They had the perfect balance of sweet and possessive and I could not stop listening!!
