In order to be closer to better medical treatment, Daisy decides to relocate to Chicago and move in with her older brother. Unfortunately, she didn't consider that she would have to face the last person she ever wanted to see, Kane Barlow. Kane, a successful professional hockey player and her brother's best friend, was once her closest confidant. However, their secret affair ended dramatically and the pair haven't spoken since. What starts off as cold disdain for each other quickly changes into flaming heat. Will they be able to pick up where they left off or will their secrets remain in the past?
This is the third book in the "Blue Devils Hockey" series but the first one I've read and it totally worked as a standalone! I have read another book by this author and really enjoyed it so no surprise that this was another great read. The tension, banter, and chemistry between Daisy and Kane kept me hooked. Kane's prank with Daisy's new job was hilarious and I loved that she didn't fold and owned her new role. I love the inclusion of a chronic illness and how Kane handled Daisy during a flareup - it really gave depth to his perceived bad boy persona. My biggest gripe with this story was Daisy's brother - for such a smart guy, he was blind to the chemistry between the pair. Additionally, it seemed odd that he was okay with the other hockey players dating his sister but not his best friend. Looking forward to going back to the earlier books and checking out more work from this author.

Kane: broody, bossy, and annoyingly irresistible.
Daisy: stubborn, independent, and 100% not here for his overprotective streak… except maybe a little.
Between the snarky banter, Kane’s swoony protectiveness, and the way Daisy’s autoimmune struggles were woven into the story so naturally, Rush the Edge gave me all the feels. As always, SJ did an amazing job of balancing laugh-out-loud, heart-tugging, and toe-curling moments.
If you love grumpy/sunshine vibes with a dash of swoon and sass, this one needs to be on your TBR.
