I've read a few of the Comfort Cafe books and this one I just couldn't get into at all. I didn't even finish reading this one. Such a shame because I love the other stories I've read in this series

I've read a few of the Cafe Food Cafe books and they never disappoint. A Gift From the Comfort Food Cafe was pure escapism, a story about finding yourself, love and friendship.

Centered around Katie, who has moved to Budbury on the Dorset Coast with her young son. There is a sense that she is running away from her past, her ex-boyfriend and her parents' dysfunctional relationship. She finds a new family in the residents of the village who take her under their wing, but can she also find romance?

I became totally absorbed in this book and lost track of time. It was a lovely read, humorous, sad, touching and life-affirming. An absolute pleasure to read. you'll love it.

These books have easily become one of my favorite series. I feel right at home in Budbury and I hate having to leave. But I leave knowing that the story will continue (hopefully with more sunshine than snow) and I’ll get more of my favs. I loved that we finally got Katie’s background, as she’s been a feature from all but the very first book. And I love that all these characters we know and love have ongoing stories that I can revisit time and time again. I don’t know if the story is making me emotional, but I’m just really happy that this great series exists and makes me believe in happy endings, even when the path isn’t always easy.

It was too dark and negative, not relaxing like the others in the series, didn't need multiple repetitions of how her parents screwed up her childhood.

Another amazing book

Debbie Johnson is an amazing author who takes you on an emotional rollercoaster of a journey throughout the book. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good happy ending.
