I got this book the day before it was released straight from Random House as a perk for being a loyal JE fancorps member. It took me a while to actually read it due to the holidays. Once I did read it, I couldn't put it down. Sometimes I want to crawl into my book and smack everyone in the head. This was one of those times. It is SO frustrating to see that Stephanie can't get her life straight but, guess what?! That's how some people are. I know people EXACTLY like Stephanie. They're working crappy jobs, dating the wrong guys and not doing anything about it and all the time wondering why their life isn't going anywhere. This is natural progression with some people and that is what keeps me coming back for more. It's one step forward and two steps back with Stephanie. I wouldn't be surprised if all this Ranger vs Morelli crap goes out the window when some new guy shows up and is EVERYTHING Stephanie needs. Sometimes you think you have to settle with one or the other and in reality you just need to walk away and start fresh. Give it a chance people. Imagine it's real life and not just a story to plow through. Looking forward to #21!!
Book #20 in the series find Stephanie in more trouble.
She has to apprehend Salvatore "Uncle Sunny" Sunucchi after he skipped bail - problem is, it's Morelli's godfather and everyone loves him. She also has to help Ranger find out who is killing old ladies and dropping them in dumpsters. Oh yeah and there is a runaway giraffe to deal with.
Nothing surprising here - love triange, humor, action, bad guys, good guys, Italian hexes, dysfunctional families and some more humor.
Doesn't add anything to the series but it's a fun read.
I picked this up to fill the time while waiting for the new Stephen King to arrive but this book was so much fun that I just blew through it and I still have to wait for King's new book.

Readers of the series know what to expect by now: Morelli vs Ranger, strange family dynamics, Rangeman cars being destroyed, incompetent hunting somehow still resulting in a catch, and this delivers all of them. Back to form with an entertaining read.
Better than the last installment, but I find I'm really getting tired of Stephanie Plum. Make a decision already!! Ranger or Morelli, and end the series.
Not her best effort, the main reason I read this was to get the conclusion of the series. There wasn't a great deal of that. I think Evanovich is leaving it open so that she can write more.
I liked it, but in some way or another, I really wish the series could come to a conclusion soon. The same back and forth between Stephanie/Ranger/Joe is getting kind of tiresome, since it has been that way for 20 books now. And though I found Lula entertaining in the beginning, she, too, is becoming a tiresome part of the plot.
It's a fun little read, but there is so little progression in the story from (say) book six to book twenty that I sort of wonder what the point is.

She makes me laugh! That's why I read. Not a bad installment to the series tho.
Of course I know I'm just jumping in here and reviewing one of the newest books of the Stephanie Plum mysterious but it would have been tedious for me to go all the way to the first book and work my way forward. Anyways Janet Evanovich has once again provided a very well written out book for Stephanie Plum.
I know that some people might be done with the love triangle that Stephanie Plum has put herself into with both Joe Morelli and Ranger. Some people are also probably tired of reading about Stephanie's stuff getting blown up or whatever else happens to Stephanie's things. But for me I'm not like that as I love everything that Janet has done in the Stephanie Plum novels.
Grandma Mazur like always is a hoot and so is Lulu. This book was a great read all the way from the beginning to the end where Stephanie gets the bad guys and that Kevin is safe and sound someplace. I actually couldn't believe the whole thing about Kevin the giraffe while I was reading it as that was both weird and funny at the same time. But everything about this book is a total Janet book and that is what I love about it.
