You know how when you eat too much junk fiord you get kind of queasy? But take that one last handful anyway? The Plum series is getting a bit like that. I think it is time to wrap this up once and for all.
3.5. Good. Predictable big bad. Still love the fun dialogue.

Good old-fashioned Stephanie Plum story. Love this series!
best one in a long time. That fun humor is back. Hope it stayed into the next one as well.
Predictable and formulaic, yes, but enjoyable. The giraffe was a plus.

So... this is book 20 in a series about one woman, told in first person.
It has the predictable related issues:
--the humor feels familiar
--the scenario is familiar
--it's not the last book, so we're still wondering which guy Stephanie will choose and when she'll either get better at her job or realize it's not the job for her.
--people in this series are way too comfortable with getting shot at, several times in the same way. Gun violence is treated with nonchalance.
All that aside, I loved the book. It is funny and entertaining (as long as you've learned to suspend disbelief by now).
I'm still firmly in the Ranger camp. Morelli thinks he knows what's best for Stephanie (he's right, but hey, it's her life), Ranger thoroughly enjoys her for being who she is. And he's like Batman. C'mon.
