A+

I love prehistory and early history in general.

I wasnt sure if the graphic novel could do the history any good, but it really shined. Filled with information, banter and sometimes dark humour, 'Sapiens: a Graphic History, Volume One' was both witty and Informative. Throw a sprinkle of cynicism and anti-religion in there and you have the book's aesthetic in a nutshell (just for those forager types).

Worth a read no matter your beliefs.

🧠 My thoughts
The book was super interesting and felt like a must-read for me. As an adult reader, obviously, I felt the original version would be more suitable. However, I felt the storytelling in the graphic version helped me in following the book better. Although the book touched on a topic that had already been discussed so many times by other authors, the author managed to blow some fresh air into this book and made it very intriguing to read.

👍 What I like
  • Good storytelling
  • There are quite a few fresh points to grab from this book

👎 What I don't like
  • Sometimes the artwork makes it a bit hard for me to read
  • Probably, the original version is more informative
