This took me less than 24 hours to finish. It was hard to put down. I listened and read this one, both formats are great.
A shy housewife who has a touch of clairvoyance, living a life she knows she has to leave. Murders, lots of gas lighting, a horrible husband you just love to hate, a stay in a mental hospital, and a winning ending.

Good book! The mother is a medium and helps with murders and sees vision. Pete father is a disgusting pig who dates underage kids and beats his wife and kids. I hated Pete! But the Dr. Curt and barb and Vera were awesome people to help Loretta. Loretta married curt and they live happily ever after

I really liked this. Kept me wanting to read. Enjoyed the main character a lot. Mystery was interesting, but a bit predictable. Still a good "twist" even if predicted. Very well written. Only dislike was the unnecessary epilogue. Would have been stronger ending without it.

I felt I knew where this one was going early on in the book. So, the ending was not a huge surprise. But, I was pulled in by Loretta's story. I wanted to know more about her gifts and where she would end up. I was cheering for her til the end. The ending felt like it came really fast. But, it is what it is. Really enjoyed this one. Loved how Kennedy covered the presence of "others" (race, sexuality, mental health, gender roles, etc.) during the 50s. Not in your face but a definite reminder that others were there and experiencing harm in many ways because of people like her husband and his colleagues.
