Part of the same story I loved as a child. I was probably a couple years older when I read this one, but I still enjoyed it.

A classic. Read when I was a girl and re-read as an adult. I actually enjoyed The Long Winter, Little Town on the Prairie, These Happy Golden Years and the First Four Years more as an adult.

I decided to finally finish the little house on the prairie series now that I’m actually old enough to want to read the last few installments When I was a kid, I did NOT understand while Laura wanted to get married and have a family and had ZERO interest in the last few installments.

It plainly says in the intro that it is written differently than the other Little House books, and that's pretty clear. I didn't like it nearly as much. I guess if you want to find out what happens after Almanzo and Laura marry, read it, but don't expect it to be as good as the first 8 books.
