This is when the series starts getting good. You have to read Book 1 to lay the foundation, but #2 and #3 are where it's at!

I'm not 100% convinced, but I think I liked this one more than Everwild, although I enjoyed both. I thought Everwild had a little more plot, more intrigue, which I really liked. I'm excited to see what happens in Everfound. All in all, I think one of the reasons I'm enjoying this series is b/c it's different than a lot of other series out there. It's not a dystopia, which is a nice change. Don't get me wrong, I have a great love of dystopia novels, but this one is a great change of place.

I like this series more and more as I read more and more of it/them. It is simply fascinating.

In this sequel, Shusterman develops the world of Everlost further and adds a lot of twists to the story. It is a satisfying sequel...I loved Allie just as much in this book, and Mary continues to give me the creeps in an irresistable way, but Nick was a disappointment. I thought, from the first book, that he was a stronger person than he turns out to be...

This is the second book in the Skinjacker series and things are getting interesting. There is a war between Afterlights. On one side is Mary who would keep all of "her children" with her for eternity. And there is Nick who wants to help the souls move on to the next place. And then there are their followers and a few extras who move to the beat of their own drum.

The thing I like about Shusterman is that he gives kids the option to choose what they believe. Mary is good and kind and beautiful which is why she has so many followers. And she truly believes she is doing the right thing. I feel like there are plenty of people in the world who operate that way as well. Things that are done in the name of good that are truly sideways and wrong. But they seem so shiny and right in the beginning that their followers are easily fooled.

I liked this one a lot and got about halfway through the third book this weekend. Next review coming soon!

This book reminds me of a comic book/graphic novel in a way with the different worlds, the ogre, the skinjacking, etc. I didn't read the first book and was still able to get really into this book two of the series. Neal Shusterman never ceases to amaze me with his creative, skillful ability write innovative novels. Loved it!

Shusterman is the only writer so far that has made me gasp out loud from plot twists

Oh man this is such a fun series. The journeys and changes with each character are so well done. I also enjoyed the expanding cast as we travel to different cities with their own afterlight cultures and beliefs. And, of course, I get teary-eyed as we encountered locations of American tragedy as well as individual stories of hope. The twists and turns in the plot, however, are class Neal Shusterman. You think you know where the plot is going and he just throws a whole new level of twists. Just like the title says, its wild out here.
