I hope this is the start of a series!

The parts that are based on the movie are well written, but the "sequel" part just reads like a bad fanfiction. I hope that if they ever do decide to do a sequel, it is better done than this. There is a random sister of the Sanderson's that we never knew about, the original characters that were the teenagers barely make an appearance... it just isn't that good

An interesting book for sure. It was somewhat of a struggle to get through the first part considering it is a yearly fall movie watch for me. However there was a couple of parts in the first part that were interning to see. And to realize I never really thought about it til it was mentioned. The second half was great. To see a new generation take hold of the old story and put a new yet old at the same time spin on it. And dare I say maybe a 3rd chapter/ book with the way this story ended? Will be looking forward to see what happens...

Thanks A. J. Jantha for an intriguing read!

The sequel takes a *lot* from the original and adds a bit of a modern spin. I'm *super* excited to see the movie, but I was hoping for a fresh, new, interesting take throughout more of the story than just the last quarter or so of the book :(

3.5/5

First half of the story
3.2/5 stars
I liked this part it was like I was listening to it instead of watching the movie.

Second half
1.5/5 stars
Did not like it much because the interaction between characters were to fast I would have like a deep development with each character especially the parents of the main characters their wasn't much deep interaction. The romance wasn't in your face but was still insta-ish.

Total:
4.7/10

After watching the sequel I realized I enjoyed this book way more then the hocus pocus 2 the movie!!
lighthearted slow-paced

Original story was super fun to read through because I love the movie. Sequel was meh.
