adventurous lighthearted mysterious medium-paced

Georgie heads to the Riviera on the quest of the Queen to recover a lost snuffbox.

Darcy situation is improving.

Light, fluffy fun, though another not quite as intriguing as the first three in the series. The highlight of this one was character interactions, but Georgie is at her best in England or Scotland, I think.

Continues to be a fun, entertaining series and great for the car.

After two heavyweight books, I desperately needed a return to something lighter and fun and found that in Naughty in Nice. This return to Lady Georgiana's world and capers as she tries to retrieve a stolen item for the queen was just what I needed. The plot was sound and the clues there if you can pick up on them.

Five stars because it's the perfect book for me to read right now. YMMV. Ok, Georgie is a bit thickheaded about Darcy, but other than that... she gets to go to the French Riviera, meet (and wear) Coco Chanel, and eventually there's even a mystery to solve. All of the regulars make an appearance of some sort, and there's the requisite small amount of moral peril. It's a thoroughly enjoyable comfort read.

Short Review: Georgie (on task from the Queen) is in Nice for the winter to spy on Mrs Simpson and get a stolen snuff box back. As is normal, a dead body shows up and this time Georgie is the one accused.

On the whole this is better than the last two books of the series and Bowen seems to have realized that the "I'm a clumsy oaf that no one is going to love" bit is getting old. Georgie has more confidence here (with some reason because she is both more confident in her detective skills and there are people that are taking her under their wing and helping her work through some of the confidence issues.)

Darcy is more a side character here and that is not all bad.

These stories are funny and intriguing. Georgiana is turning into a proper sleuth. Her detection skills need to be polished up and her frightful virginity needs to be taken. She has gone on about her virginity for many books now and I think that Darcy and she need to make things official. I understand that the romance in these novels takes a seat next to the mystery, but it is still one of the reasons why these stories are so cute. I want to see Georgie happy, which means she has Darcy, a home, and money (aka a job fit for a sleuth/a lady).

A fun romp, like all of these, but not serious or complex enough for a fourth star.

I love this whole series, which I listen as audiobooks.
