this book made me incredibly uncomfortable and was not worth any of it 

I’m sorry even though it wasn’t ~legally~ rape, it still felt soooo icky to read the relationship between the teacher and student. Made me hate the whole book.

This was so bonkers, but I ate it up! I read this in one sitting. Reading Freida McFadden's stories is like watching a slightly cringe and binge-worthy TV drama -- like Desperate Housewives or Manifest -- none of it is realistic, but you are guaranteed to be entertained. Freida McFadden is an expert in writing fast-paced stories with twists and turns that have you on the edge of your seat. She is a reliable author who seems to deliver countless bangers---The Housemaid got me back into reading! After reading The Teacher, I expect to be open to reading more of her books in the future. I will note though, The Teacher literally was disgusting at times. I was horrified at what I was reading. So please check trigger warnings.

The main characters are barely tolerable between Addie’s constant whining and being oblivious and Nate being the worst human ever, but the twist at the end was interesting.
