Sadly read over half of this and had to DNF. The story wasn’t very interesting, the characters were dull, couldn’t connect with any of them. Evie is so rude and unlikeable I’m surprised I even got as far as I did. I hate giving bad reviews but this was just personally not for me

I really enjoyed Laura Jane Williams book The Lucky Escape, but this one was not it. It was alllll over the place. So many plot points happened and some were important and some were not. You’d think something major just happened and then boom, scene change and it’s just glazed over.

While I enjoyed seeing the characters grow I didn’t love them. Evie not understanding her books helped people seemed odd. Duke seemed the best character out of everyone and yet no one treated him well.

I just couldn’t get into it and probably should have DNF’d.
