This book had a lot of potential and I actually enjoyed reading it until the end. I hated the ending so so much. I understood why the main character made that particular decision but it felt kinda random seeing as the whole book was leading up to it and the based off of one quick conversation she changed her mind. The description of freshman year was so accurate and I could feel my self getting nostalgic for my first year at university. I was definitely confused on where this book was set though because it seems like the school was in the UK but they use American terms such as "soccer", "college", and "high school". If the ending was better I would have definitely given this more stars.

An amazing book perfect for those who are just about to start university. I laughed out loud at several points and the friendship is written beautifully!
funny medium-paced

I had a lot of emotions while reading this book, but the strongest of them was anger. Anger at how, in this day and age of the "#MeToo" movement, something so disgusting could be thought of and written.
I'll be real here - I actually enjoyed the plot of this book whenever it was just about Luke and Phoebe, and their first semester of college. I would have enjoyed the book even more if there had been no Wall of Shame, completely demoralizing of women. It was disgusting, and I closed the book multiple times because I was so mad. I could see where the plot was going, I knew who all the scumbags were. I only continued on when I thought "maybe I'm wrong here."
I wasn't wrong. There wasn't really a hapy ending. Which is fine, not every book needs one, but the ending felt cut off - nothing was really... finished? One problem was focused on, and all the rest of them were just left unanswered. Characters who strived for a certain ending didn't get one. Frankie deserved more. Becky deserved more. Arthur and Rita deserved more. Will deserved less.
Anyways, I'm still angry.
It was a good book otherwise, and I'm not going to let this chip on my shoulder keep me from recommending the book to people who enjoy books like this.

It was fine?? I mean I guess it was more bad than good. Luke is such a dick and I really didn’t like the “romance” that was the entire plot of this story. I did really like the friendship between Phoebe, Frankie, and Negin.
lighthearted slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

I hated the ending of this book. I really didn't like the love interest. I enjoyed the Harry Potter & the condom accident. The condom accident lives rent-free in my head. But besides that, not a fan.

Overall, I really enjoyed the real and raw nature of characters going through HUGE life changes and seeing them grow and develop into young adults. I wish that another book is in the works that takes place in about 10 years.

Ahhh, this book. Such a good binge read. I loved this book and the ending. How everything came together in the the end was so satisfying. Although I found Luke Taylor super cringe and annoying I still weirdly enjoyed reading from his perspective. I love Phoebe so much, I was groaning with her and wanting to give her a hug but also cheering for her. I thought she was really sweet. The standout thing about this book though was the female friendships or just the friendships in general. I think all that was done in a very 3 dimensional, complicated, beautiful way. Leaving my heart feeling super warm.
