This book was strange and different than I thought. It didn't explain the college experience the way I wanted it to and just fantasized two kids and their newfound love for each other. The worst part for me is that I read the whole book for them to not get together in the end. Honestly I wish that Phoebe ended up with Josh, but that's just me. I would recommend, but not if you want to read about the college experience.

I like that it showed a more realistic take on love and college. However, the consequences for some of the stuff that happened should of been extremely worse.

Fresher šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. What kind of name is that. My advanced readers copy of this novel had the title freshman which was so much better. This was an amazing book that I couldn’t put down. It’s very refreshing and not cliche at all. Phoebe did annoy me a little at the end for a bit but besides that it was good.

Hilarious. Fast-paced. Wonderful characters with realistic flaws.
I was so rooting for Phoebe and Luke at the beginning but as the book progressed, I am so eternally happy that they didn't end up together. And on such good terms. The entire book was so satisfying. While my inner romance fiend is slightly disappointed that they didn't end up together, I don't think this book should've ended any other way.
Freshmen was exciting and hard to put down. It's one of those books that's so easy to follow and light hearted.
The writing is wonderful, the characters are my favourite part and the plot is so fulfilling but quick. I adore Freshmen, it's definitely worth the read.

Freshmen is a story about two incoming college freshmen in England. I did not know it was not American until I started reading it. That may have slightly deterred my enjoyment simply because college in America is a bit different than in England (according to this book) and I was looking forward to laughing about shared experiences. The two main characters are very realistic and for that I applaud the authors. They aren't too good or too bad or too anything. They are freshmen and are adjusting to the college experience.

The reason this was only a 4 star book and not a 5 star book is because the relationship between the two main characters fell flat for me. There's literally a heart on the cover so I was expecting a cute romance, but this is like a typical hook-up type of the college relationship, which is totally fine, but it's not what I signed up for.

Phoebe and her group of friends are hilarious and wonderful and I enjoyed every moment with them (even if some things were insanely cringey). Luke, on the other hand, wasn't my fave. He was kind of a good guy but also a huge jerk at the same time and I don't like how he only started like Phoebe after he found out she likes him. His friends weren't amazing either and I totally ending up shipping Phoebe with a different character in the book.

What this book boils down to is this: it's a fun look at the first year of college, but the boys in this book (minus one) suck a LOT. The girls rock though! So just know, this isn't a fun cute little romance with a college setting, so if that's what you're looking for, keep looking.

I really wanted to enjoy this book and in some ways, I did. My major issue was how the synopsis is misleading. While the promised plot does happen, it is very minimal in the grand scheme of things.

I am an incoming freshmen, so while there is many unnecessary scenes I found it very helpful. It showed the process of making new friends. Along with offering insight on how to balance academics and your social life with newfound freedom.

Some readers might feel that the build up was slow, which is was, but it was also it's own story. This book combined 2 stories. I enjoyed both, but I was also eager to be introduced to what the summary mentioned.

This book is getting two stars purely based on entertainment factor because it was very entertaining. I really enjoyed Phoebe and Luke’s characters and the basic plot of the story. I did literally laugh out loud many times while reading, which has never really happened to me with books. The writing was a little hard to follow at times with dialogue and I found myself having to go back a few times to see who was saying what. This is also very cliche, so if you don’t like that, don’t pick this up. Overall, I think that it was entertaining and a nice light summer contemporary!

This book is about a ā€œtypicalā€ freshman year in college and just goes through their lives and shows the drama in their lives.
