This was so, so slow. I couldn't get through the middle. I don't understand how everything Raihn did made me cringe when I loved the first book so much.

This was absolute perfection. I could read this over and over again and never get tired of it. Between the character growth and relationship development, I couldn’t love these characters any more, my heart is so full. This story was also executed so insanely well. The love, grief, growth, betrayal, and all the emotions fueled so much of the character development in a beautiful way where there was the hesitation to accept them to finally allowing themselves to feel. I think the relationships were so well done between the introduction of new characters and relationships to the pacing of the relationship between Raihn and Oraya. I also have to say that Oraya is very high up there on my list of badass FMCs, like specifically this book, she had so many similar vibes to Aelin from TOG. I cannot wait to read Mische’s story in the next duology!

I love the way the author writes. There is just something so beautiful about it. I gave this book 4 stars. I love the characters! I think it’s just hard to follow up the first book which was 6 stars for me. The plot was good, the characters are still amazing. Something about the book just felt off. There was a lot of inner monologue inside the inner monologue and some of it felt too repetitive. The love story was not doing it for me like it did in book 1. 

Oraya hated the MMC and rightfully so but it seemed like she just randomly was okay with him without a cause. I needed this thought process portion to be explained more.

It was not book 1 but it was still a good ending to their story. I look forward to book 3 and the next set of MCs.

Hmmm, I don’t know. Nothing really happened in this book or at least I felt like most of the plot was inconsequential, I didn’t much care about it. Didn’t care for the characters either.
