Not my favorite book by this author. Probably closer to a 3.5 for me. I understand why this was picked up for a movie, but it wasn’t as intense as some of her previous books in my opinion. Still a quick easy read.

Exciting! Has a sweet backstory and kept me enticed the entire story! Finished it in two reads.

Unsufferable cleverer than anyone of course they’re right about everything characters

Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

This was the April Buzy Beez Bookstore Blind Date Bookclub pick. It was far outside of my comfort zone, and I struggled to put it down. I found myself holding my breath, fighting tears, and gnawing my bottom lip off in an attempt not to scream.

PROS:
✈️ The suspense stayed at a 1000/10 the entire time
🌊 I don’t know Jack Diddly about planes, underwater welding, naval rescue, or 90% of the meat of this book; but that never once made me feel lost or disconnected from the story. T. J. Newman did a brilliant job of providing all the details needed to make me feel like I DID know all these things.
✈️ Those descriptions had me feeling the water creeping up to my knees and the pitch black of the ocean floor.
🌊 Well researched and well executed

CONS:
✈️ There is definitely a Deus Ex Machina moment or two, but I forgive them because I NEEDED them to work for my own emotional stability.

🛩️🛩️🛩️🛩️🛩️ out of five planes nose diving into the sea

Definitely the worst book I've read so far, not that I don't necessarily like it, I just didn't enjoy it.
I really struggled to finish it and honestly when I did I was glad. 😭

Wow. This book was an unexpected 5 star read. It’s hard to talk about the synopsis without giving spoilers so yeah, it’s about a plane crash on to water.

Wow. This book had me in a chokehold. I was rooting for everyone so bad. I cried at multiple parts in this book and sobbed for the last 100 pages. I was so moved by this authors writing and I will definitely be reading more from T.J. Newman.

WOW WOW WOW!!! such a powerful read my emotions were literally everywhere

𝓡𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰 5/5⭐️

Drowning by T.J. Newman follows a plane that crashes into the Pacific Ocean six minutes after takeoff. Following the crash many are trying to evacuate the plane but some are forced to stay inside the plane… and then it sinks to the bottom!

I can’t even, I am still floored! 5 freaking stars absofreakinglutely! This is my second book from T.J. Newman and I loved the first one too but I think this one was better in my opining.

I was riveted from the very first line, page, and chapter. This was panic inducing, anxiety ridden, and heart pounding stakes. I was on the edge of my seat the entire book, legit the ENTIRE book.

Even as I write this my heart is still racing! The author did such a good job following several point of views. I honestly thought this was such a well written book.

If you want a fast-paced, realistic, thriller with relentless tension and emotional stakes then this is for you!
