This new book by Newman is about another plane disaster, but one where a plane crashes into the ocean. It centers around a few central core characters including passengers, crew, and a pilot, plus the efforts made outside of the plane to save them. Much like her first book, I read this in one sitting. Newman's own career as a flight attendant lends a very knowledgable and believable amount of details regarding airplane features and functions. She put in a vast amount of research regarding methods for how to save people underwater and the involvement of the military. Whether this is something that could have been pulled off in real life was not something I continually questioned while reading, With the detail and writing style, it was just a given in my opinion. I recommend this book for those who enjoy tense thrillers and books about how others react when lives are in danger.

5 stars for what it is. Is the former flight attendant going to write another book about an airplane in distress with a near-replica cover? Yes, yes she is. Maybe she has one note, but the one note is fun.

I enjoy the Airplane Emergency genre so this is right up my alley. Plane crashes in ocean, rescue effort, that’s it, that’s the book. It’s written like the Ultimate Popcorn Movie — quick scenes that cut back and forth and around. And, of course, we stan a book that’s under 300 pages. You could easily read this in one day… or probably one flight.

Does it happen exactly as you’d expect? Sure. But it’s fun. A good palette-cleansing book.

Wow.. this was 100% worth the wait! I was at the edge of my seat the entire time with my heart literally out of my chest. The emotions this put me through..

Having everyone's POV (both in and out of the plane) was amazing but also heartbreaking because you feel their every emotion. Knowing their back stories too.. gosh, I couldn't help but cry.

I couldn't even imagine going through something like this. The panic I would go through. The way everyone worked together though.. absolutely amazing. The epilogue was so sad but so damn sweet.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

4.5 stars. wow this was written so amazingly the pacing the chapter lengths the plot the multiple povs the characters…everything was so good. i teared up SO many times in this book like it was so emotional and really tugged at the heart stings. the only reason it’s not 5 stars is bc there were a lot of lines that were so cliche and made me cringe a bit, but i loved this book and will definitely be reading their other one.

Audiobook. 3.5 stars. Quick & engaging read. Different enough from Falling. Will was a pretty annoying character.

Wow. What a read. That was so much fun.

It felt like I was watching a movie. Very fast paced, perfect for this kind of plot. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, feeling anxious and stressed. I wished I could read faster just to reach the ending - are they going to survive? Who will die? (Praying that the good ones will make it)

The story was incredibly gripping, with emotional moments that the author balanced really well. I cared about the characters, and some scenes nearly brought tears to my eyes.

I’d definitely watch this if it were a movie. I love this genre and trope.
