This one was dark, twisty, and totally bingeable. Ten years after four women vanish without a trace on a remote Swedish island, true crime podcaster Tessa returns to that same place for her best friend’s bachelorette party—and can’t help digging into what really happened. The dual timeline adds tension, the setting is perfectly eerie, and while I saw the killer coming, I was still hooked trying to figure out the motive. Some of the characters are messy and not exactly easy to like, but that made it even more entertaining. A little dramatic? Sure. But I was fully in.
Thank you St. Martin’s Press, Minotaur Books and NetGalley for the gifted ebook arc. All opinions expressed are my own.

The Bachelorette Party by Camilla Sten was my first slow burn mystery, and I really enjoyed the shift from the fast-paced thrillers I usually read. The writing was strong and emotional, with a tone that felt more reflective than terrifying.
Told through dual timelines, the story follows two groups of women whose narratives slowly and satisfyingly intersect. The two lead characters stood out—both complex and written with a quiet intensity that stuck with me.
While I did suspect the ending (as I often do), there were still some surprises that kept me hooked. The remote setting added a sense of isolation and tension that worked well with the pacing.
I’d recommend this to readers who enjoy slow burn mysteries, dual timelines, and stories that blend suspense with emotional depth.

The secluded remote island resort was the perfect setting for this locked in room mystery. The duel timelines and when they switched were well done kept me reading.
However the similarities in names between the original 4 women who went missing on the island 10 years earlier and the current women attending the bachelorette party kept me confused and even had my mind complicating predictions of possibly one of the gals being one of the original 4.
I found myself quickly devouring the book though after the second half of the book. I needed to know. I wasn’t quite expecting the thriller aspect of it and did feel it got a little too thrasher and unrealistic and a little hard to follow.
As This was an arc and I appreciate NetGalley for the ecopy, I imagine some more editing will go into it before its release. Because a few things got me confused for a minute:
A murder weapon changed names a few times
A character randomly appears at the end
A character was mentioned living in an apartment and then a different one was named as living there.
Sunset used instead of sunrise
I haven’t read this author before and I definitely would pick up her other books. I think this would be the perfect beach read for those that like mystery and thrillers.
