well, i used to hate the movie tyson butttt reading the book changed my mind!!! but still, not as cool as the first book
While this was a good follow up to the first one the story was somewhat the same. Percy and Annabeth go on a quest again despite the camp not wanting them to go. The camp thinks it should be someone else’s turn to save the day. Percy wants to go because Grover is in trouble.
Like the first book this one had adventure, action and a little bit of comedy. All of this helped it to flow at a steady pace. Also like the first book Percy and Annabeth come across places to rest and sometimes get help. What I didn’t get was after what they went through in the first one is why they didn’t go with their gut feeling if they though something wasn’t right about a place. I mean come one if you feel like something isn’t right about a place and with your previous experience then it would probably be safe to say that the place isn’t right. Whatever.
Percy learns more about the prophecy that Chiron didn’t want to tell him about in the first one and has to deal with that.
Overall I liked this one since it still had plenty of action and some comedy thrown into the mix. The characters are like everyday people through their emotions.
