I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of this (and I got to meet the author!!!!) and y'all. This book is incredible.

Mags is struggling to take care of her grandmother and her family's dark secret. Things get even more complicated when childhood friend Nessa returns, asking questions and inching closer to uncovering Mags's secret.

I adore Ostertag and everything she does, and this book is no exception. I plan on buying a copy when the book comes out so I can experience it in full color. It's a beautiful and heartbreaking story on generational trauma and letting others in.

I was lucky enough to get a signed copy of this book at Y'allWest. So thank you, Molly Ostertag, for allowing me to read this great graphic novel!

Normally I don't go for graphic novels, because I feel that the plot often gets simplified for the sake of the visuals. I didn't feel like that was the case with this one, as instead we got a lot of symbolized and thematic illustrations sprinkled throughout. The story itself could be seen either as a literal reckoning with evil, or as a metaphor for one's personal baggage and demons.

The characters and interpersonal relationships are also handled in a very mature and realistic manner. I appreciated the shades of grey present in ALL the characters, including the so-called "villains."
