What a weird story and/or series of stories. It was not at all what i expected. A breath of fresh air and so different from anything I’ve read. I do think the ending was a little contrived and I think the author used an air of mystery as an excuse to leave things unexplained.

This is such a unique story that I'll be thinking about for a long time. It seemed to sag a bit in the middle, but there was enough intrigue for me to keep reading. I'm really glad I did. I really liked the way the author capped the start and end of each chapter with a description of that chapter's beasts. I think a lot of it went over my head, but the epilogue helps to explain a bit.
Graphic: Death, Suicide
A bit of a compendium of strange beasts that Emily Wilde might produce, but more poetic than informative. Still unsure if I liked it.
