Pretty decent, but more difficult to get through than the previous two. The end was just confusing. I mean, it was a good book, but the end made very little sense.

Who knew that Lucifer is a title, not a name?

There is, obviously, a 4th book in the works. BUT, he didn't stop in the middle of a story.

I love the way Kadrey writes. His characters as smartasses and absolutely hilarious.

I've forgotten how much I've missed Kadrey's pithy dialogue and internal monologues. It's funny to me that it took a good third of the first Sandman Slim novel for me to get over abjectly HATING it, to the point where just reading the first few pages of Aloha From Hell and it was like manna -- it just felt like home =0)

Look, if you've read the first couple books in this series, then you know what you're in for: snappy, pithy dialogue; angels, demons, monsters and everything in between; a fair bit of humour; and just enough blasphemy to keep things interesting. Loved this just as I've loved the earlier entries in the series, but I will say that the ending (say the last 50-60 pages) definitely felt a little rushed -- the climax of where the entire book had built to felt breakneck, to the point where I was certain that it was going to finish on a cliffhanger, but instead, everything just kind of charges through to the conclusion like Michael Bay on a coke bender. I'd appreciate that in most visual mediums, but in a book, I want to savor the details and it very much felt like as the reader, you're being shepherded off the edge of a cliff, haha.

But altogether, still a damn fun read =0)

A very disappointing sequel.

About as hard-boiled as you can get. So much, I'm not sure if the author is parodying the character type. I've not read any of that style of detective novel to compare to.

I think a big reason I liked the first novel was that "Hell magic" was kind of a new focus in fantasy for me. The third book, it's not so new now. Kadrey did some interesting stuff with the mythology, though.

Another adventurous romp through L.A. and Hell and their various inhabitants including a cynic and arse in the form of Sandman Slim. A fun and exciting tale in which Stark, as he's otherwise known, seeks to revisit his old haunts to see about some unfinished business in his previous residence.

A great third installment in this unique series.

I gave it a 8.5/10 on my personal scale.

Not the best of the series (so far). Seemed to drag a lot in the middle or last third before a fairly quick ending.

Another solid entry into the Sandman Slim series, the best anti hero I have ever found.
