I got this book from the Goodreads giveaway.

Not going to lie, when i started reading this book, i was a little reluctant cause i didn't want to read another love/romance novel. But i was so wrong, this page-turner kept me up all night and i just couldn't put it down. The plot twist at the end surprised me and i was not expecting it. I would have loved a little more mystery in the book. Overall, i loved it and will recommend it to everyone!

I won a copy of The Affair in a twitter giveaway - and was delighted because the summary was just up my street.

It's taken me a bit longer than it should have to read it - because after I started I got caught up in a couple of other books which I had to prioritise, but when I came back to it today (I was already 125 pages in), I really, really enjoyed it. I whipped through the end - I liked the intertwining story lines against the backdrop of the more famous one and I liked the descriptions of 1960s Rome. It's not a neatly tied up ending, but it's still satisfying. I'll keep an eye out for more from Gill Paul (although possibly not her Titanic book, because I find that particular subject just too, too depressing!)

Although it was interesting to think about the impact the Cleopatra movie had on Elizabeth Taylor's life and the world of Hollywood, I felt like the author couldn't decide what book she wanted to write. The first half was a romance and the out of nowhere, the second half was a murder mystery.

This was terrible. I should have quit it after the first 100 pages but I kept hoping that it would get better. The characters are all so dumb. The choices they make, the things they say and think. It was just ridiculous. Read Furious Love if you want to know more about Elizabeth and Richard's love.

*I won this book through a First Reads giveaway.*

I enjoyed it, more towards the end when it got a little less romantic, but I enjoyed it.

I'm not usually one for so-called 'chick-lit' or romance novels. I felt the romance element was a little predictable and the writing was a little cliche and weak at times. Despite that, before the two stories met, I preferred the Diana character arc, mostly because of the Elizabeth Taylor, film set element. So not my favourite book, but it was an easy light summer read, and I must admit that I've become a bit of Elizabeth Taylor fangirl now.
