The Grownup is a great read if you are wanting something short and quick. Similar to Flynn's Gone Girl, there is a strong and snarky unreliable narrator. She is fantastic at manipulating people and is generally not a nice human. The short story has lots of twists and turns. Unfortunately, the ending didn't stick the landing as things didn't feel resolved. It's worth a quick read but I did find it pretty disappointing at times. Not quite the "classic ghost story" that it is advertised as.
What even was this? This was way way too much in very few pages. The opening pages were at least funny otherwise this review would be 1 star.

I enjoyed this quick read. Loved that I could finish a book in one sitting. The first sentence shocked me straight away so I was curious as to where this was going to go. I had no clue what was going to happen. Wasn’t expecting the ending however I do think it was all a bit rushed at the end. I guess it is a short story though . However, I think it is quite a forgettable story.

A short story, with some Shirley Jackson references. Multiple twists at the end which is signature Flynn but the story is too short for these multiple twists, I had whiplash not in a good way.
