This only took an hour to read. It was a great little short story. I really enjoy Gillian Flynn’s writing. It is fast paced and twisty.

Each of Gillian’s other books has had me obsessed, her writing is fast but brilliant and the storylines are iconic. I was expecting that from The Grownup and am left feeling short changed. It’s another brilliantly written story and the plot has a classic Flynn twist, but I want more. I know it’s a short story… but there’s an element to it which feels rushed, and as though something has been ignored. I can only dream that GF will turn it into a full novel.
This is a short story that only took an hour to listen to, so this kind of feels like cheating.
It was fine.
