Such an interesting short story. One minute I would think one thing, and then the next sentence would make me second guess everything.

this was pretty good! have to agree that the last third was a bit explainy, back and forth. personally i like the ambiguity, the wondering of who is telling the truth, but the end was really just “my mom was crazy the whole time, not me! here’s why… haha just kidding, we’re BOTH crazy! here’s why…” but i liked it nonetheless. gillian flynn is so iconic. need to reread sharp objects and FINALLY read gone girl.

Originally read this as part of the Rogues anthology, where it was called "What Do You Do?" Not sure why the title change.

This short story wasn't what I expected from Gillian Flynn. I mean, it started off with her usual dramatic hook to get ya interested and then for me it flopped all the way to the end.
Was this piece too forced or rushed? I'd like to think so because her other 3 novels were amazing and this one just left me cringing from how awful it was.
The awfulness of this novella won't stop me from reading the next book she publishes, but boy did I really not enjoy this one.

Good grief lol this was riveting and very entertaining but I'm not sure how I really feel about it all so I just have to laugh and say it was a good time. I'm very curious why this isn't a longer story or short novel though.... I feel like there could have been more. But I have to say it was very well done albeit very weird. Which is probably what she was going for anyway.
