Was a little disappointed when I realized this was more of a short story than a book (or even novella) but I enjoyed the read a lot — creepy and quick with a fun little mind bender ending. The main character was hard to get a real grip on…again likely because this wasn’t meant to be a fleshed out novel.
Just what I'd expect from Gillian Flynn- creepy, cat-and-mouse plot with a twist only a reader as crazycakes as Gillian herself would see coming. Loved it!

I think it would have been better as a longer story. I would have preferred there been more mystery around the house as it was resolved very quickly. I also found the ending to be a bit rushed with the characters just explaining what was happening. We were told the FMC was smart and good at reading people but that is quickly proved otherwise.

I enjoyed this book, and it really did pack a decent punch for a 65 page short story... BUT... I felt like I really needed more from it. This could have been a fully developed novel and I wanted more of my questions answered at the end. I also found the ending to be totally bizarre and unrealistic.
Pros: Fun read, short, spooky vibes.
Cons: Weak and unrealistic ending.

I really liked this story until the end. I figured out the twist so there was so surprise and the book just sort of ended. I am not sure if this is a set up for a future book. If not, I feel like it was a waste of time and money!
