I started this right after finishing the second season of the anime (which I love!) as it was all caught up with Neko's manga too. However I have a really hard time with the writing style, which made me really disengaged from the story. I think I'd rather be patient and wait for s3!

I latched onto this volume after finishing season 2 of the animated series as it swept me into a hyperfixation. The characters are lovable (especially Maomao (the girl)) and despite it being a mystery-solving series it doesn’t veer into formulaic ‘problem-of-the-week’ territory; I love how as you read further on small threads get picked back up and shed light on the wider story. Also, of course, I’m obsessed with the slow-burn. Devouring the rest of the series ASAP.
