The Obsession

Messy Messy. This is the second book of the Filthy Rich Americans series. Marist feels betrayed by Royce when he essentially sells her to his father, Macalister. Marist is Macalister’s obsession. He thinks he needs to get her out of his system. He comes up with all sorts of creepy means to do this TO HIS SONS FIANCÉ. Meanwhile Royce is letting it all happen AND Marist is developing deeper feelings for him. This family is problematic to say the least. Also ends in another cliff hanger.

This took me forever to get through because I genuinely can’t comprehend the father in this book. Like he is so delusional and I just feel bad for Marist. Just because he made her do those things doesn’t mean she likes him. Idk I know some people like this trope but for me I don’t. While this book has a little more plot and substance than the last one and she kind of does her own thing I still found this one kind of weirder than the first one and that’s saying a lot (iykyk). Also the ending I remember having my jaw on the ground and I genuinely forgot about that part until I got to that chapter.

This is such a cat and mouse type situation with Macalister, Royce’s dad wanting what his son has and the games he wants to play to possess Marist but she feels so conflicted between emotions and desire. This series is like catnip and you don’t want to look away from it.

It will not be for everyone with the taboo/ dark aspects of it.

I am not sure why I am reading this series. Maybe because I am nosy and people keep talking about it.
Dark romance has typically not been my thing but lately there have a few that surprised me.

what the FUCK!

i’m so shocked. i don’t know who i want marist to end up with atp
