3 stars for the plot being mediocre and having a hard time getting into the book, and the .5 for the insane plot twist at the end that I had no idea was coming.

My rating says 3 stars but it’s really 2 1/2. It was okay. I will admit I found myself really creeped out at most of the moments between Daddy Hale and what’s her name (Medusa). This was strange for me because he is the typical hot older male with a dominant, petulant, I get what I want whenever I want and I want you type of alpha male that I love. But yeah in this book it actually gave me the creeps. Like he came across as a leery, creepy old man and it was just wrong wrong wrong.
To sum up what I disliked most about this book I’ll have to say I agree with one of the reviewers here who said that it is just infuriating and eye roll inducing when she makes these bargains when there is almost always an obvious alternative that doesn’t mean she has to get eaten out in the maze by her fiancés creepy old man. Literally.

Some of the darkest part of the series. You really start to dislike Macalister as hé becomes more and more manipulating.
4. 5 stars!! I am writing this review after reading the trilogy and this one is my FAVOURITE in the series. I flew through this book, I read it in a day!!
Marist is a great main character; I like the way she describes the events and how she reacts to them! She is very clever and brave and it's a delight being inside her head.
The delicious sexual tension between Marist and Macalister gave me life! (the vibrator? the hedge maze chase? yeah those are some of the best sensual scenes I have read in a while.
I also like how different and intriguing her time with Royce was.
This series is full of drama, twists and betrayal. I LOVE IT. And that ending?? I am running to start the next book.
