Holy Christ....

Just when I think Nikki Sloane’s books couldn’t possibly get better, she hits readers with this bombshell. This was classic Sloane style reading right here - delicious characters, the right about of drama and “Oh CRAP!” moments, with steam that scorched the page.

I knew Nikki had a Darkness to her with Sordid and Torrid, and we definitely got a hint of that spice with this novel. I was left feeling confused about how I felt regarding the characters and the events that took place but in the best way because I couldn’t figure out what was going to happen next! The tension! The steam! The overall amazingness! That ending is something I still cannot get over and I’ll be waiting ANXIOUSLY until the next installment.

If you’ve never read a Nikki Sloane novel, you need to fix that ASAP because her storytelling is incredible and well worth the plunge over into the dark side.

What did I just read?? And what is with all these cliff hangers?

The Obsession is the 2nd book in the Filthy Rich Americans series and follows Marist. I WAS OVER HERE UNSURE OF WHO TO ROOT FOR. I mean obviously we have Royce, our love interest but MACALLISTER. Holy crap. Holy hotness. I mean he is so evil but like SO intriguing. I cannot wait to continue this series!

okay so im obsessed with this series .... only 4 stars because i hate macalister so much and everything about him so it loses a star because of him (he just keeps getting worse)

Why am I rooting for Macalister Hale? I think he’s misunderstood. I think he really loved his wife so in a strange way he is trying to protect his son and Marist from experiencing that kind of heartbreak. I think, I think, I think…but I don’t know yet! Is Royce in love with Marist or is he a great manipulator? Should Marist and Royce be together? I don’t know. Part of me wants Marist to give into Macalister, part of me wants Marist to choose Royce and for them to get away from Macalister so they can be happy, and part of me is yelling at Marist telling to run for her life and let the chess pieces fall. This family dynamic is SICK! Different points of the plot had my mouth hanging open in unbelief and shock. But I can’t stop reading it…I have to know what happens. Macalister, boy, you are something else! Macalister is definitely one of those characters that you love to hate but ask yourself how and when you ended up rooting for him. The references to different Greek mythology characters is great. Crazy cliffhanger has me happy that I don’t have to wait for the next book to come out! Let’s play Chess… will the King take the Queen or will the Queen push the enemy King to the edge of the board and then allow him to help her get checkmate?
