I grabbed this for the beautiful cover and wasn't disappointed in the least! I kind of love not reading the synopsis cause every story is a complete surprise! Reverse harem, a feisty and independent FMC, 5 (yes, 5) supernatural alphas that are bonded to her. Soooo glad I picked this up!

I am not normally a RH reader, but the caption made me curious.

I really enjoyed this book... however, now I need more after that cliffhanger!

I do give this four stars because I needed some back story to build this world a little bit more... there were some characters that seemed key, however, I had no clue why they were.

Other than that- I enjoyed this story and will be reading the next book!

TW: violence, abuse / mention of child abuse, kidnapping, murder, suicidal thoughts, sexual harassment.

This book was surprising, I honestly picked it up because it had a cover that just called to me, I mean it’s gorgeous! But the book itself is pretty good. It’s a quick read and reasonably easy to get through, I managed to read this in one sitting. There’s nothing that stands out massively so far with this book but it’s still a good read

~ The Plot ~
This book seems to be a world building and character introduction book, we have a small side plot that ends up being the entire motive to this book but it’s still entertaining enough.

~ The Characters ~
Kiarra- she’s a strong character, she puts others above herself and her motives are almost never selfish. This poor girl has been through hell and yet will give up her chance to stop it for a girl she just meet. Dumb? Yes? But moving.
Kai- is your typical alpha, can control a room and set anyone straight, he breathes power yet cares very deeply.
Rion- He knows to look deeper, to not jump to conclusions, that someone’s reaction to something may seem cruel or selfish but looks further and sees why they act that way, he’s very observant and has a slight ego. Overall I do like him.
Jax- he’s the goofball of the group, the light hearted one that can brighten any situation.
Luka- seems to be the grounded one, almost the glue in the group, he breaks up fights, stops them before they start and looks after each one of his group.
Axel- is he my favourite? Yes… Is he an Asshole? Yes… from the first time I meet this character I was pulled it, the colourblind red flags came out and I was enchanted. He’s your typical asshole character, the ‘keep-them-at-a-distance-so-they-don’t-know-how-much-I-care’ type. He’s just enough gruff and just enough soft to balance nicely. And that confession! I have never read one that moved me so much (that could be the Axel vision making it better then it was)

Overall it’s a good starting point, there is a lot of places this series can go and it can either go really well or really flop. I have hope and will be carrying on with the series.

It was just kind of not great, which it’s my fault bc I read it after two normal fantasies instead of my contemporary romance palate cleanser, but there was to much “I can’t do this anymore” with not enough comedy or romance 😕

Okay,
First off, the cover is gorgeous.

So we have Kiarra who it trapped under her evil step father's rule. She has the magic ability to heal herself, so he continually tortures her to the brink of death as a fun little game for himself. She's planning to run away when her five long lost best friends come back into her life and turn out to all be her fated mates.

This was an okay story overall - I didn't hate it, but I didn't necessarily like it. I felt like there wasn't much character development and we were just thrown into the sexual dynamics of their relationships without any real chemistry between the love interests.

I personally am not a fan of the miscommunication trope - specifically when all the conflict could have been avoided or handled better if the FMC would just open her mouth ONE TIME and communicate.  She also had such a hero/savior complex that it was to the detriment of herself and everyone around her.

But If you're looking for fated mates, in a kind of simple fantasy world (in that they're shifters and have magic but it's still based on a modern, real world), and a quick simple read, then this might be for you.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this ALC.
