It’s not my favorites character fault, when characters blame themselves for circumstances far beyond their control, and then punish themselves endlessly for it. There’s a certain amount of arrogance about that kind of fault laying, but everything else about these two characters, and how they fall in love is just lovely.

This was a sweet historical romance. I liked the fact that the FMC had been engaged 3 times and they had all fallen through. It definitely added something interesting to the plot as she tried to finally find someone she actually loved and not just a marriage her father was pushing her into. Also this book has a sassy rich old lady which I honestly always love.

Kind of conflicted on my feelings for this book. The first half was a bit of a struggle to get through. It was slow burn with a lot of miscommunications, and the third act breakup really didn't help. The hero was somewhat infuriating at times.
I did love the heroine, though. They were both broken characters with issues to work through, and the resolution to their struggles brought me to tears. Normally, that would put this book higher, but I ultimately wanted more from the relationship. I will continue reading this author's work, because I like her characters. If you like angst, this might be the book for you!
Another minor gripe is with the cover design: Peter is described as being a "Viking" with long blonde hair, a big body, and a beard. The guy on the cover does not match, and that bothers me.

A Good Duke is Hard to Find is the first book in the new Isle of Synne series. I loved the cover of this book and instantly wanted to read it. I love second chance romances, and this was a fourth chance at romance after her third fiancé leaves Lenora at the altar. After the last disaster, Lenora knew she had to leave London and her father’s attempts at finding her a husband. Returning to the Isle of Synne was painful but it was the only place she knew to go. I was so glad Lenora finally found her happy ever after finally. Peter Ashford was only on the Isle of Synne for revenge and had no plans on staying. But meeting Lenora made him rethink his plans. Could he give up his chance at revenge for love?

It was what it said on the tin. An enjoyable read for an afternoon, though a great deal of it was par for the course. Could be me, though. I've read an awful lot of these books lately in recent years.

A Good Duke is Hard to Find, by Christina Britton is well written. This book is a even paced book. The details of the story are explained well. The reader is able to visualize the scenes as they read the story. The characters dialogue is not to complicated when they carry conversations with other characters.
The plot and story line didn’t lose the reader in the direction that the writer wanted the reader to go. The drama was placed well through the book. Lenora and Peter’s romance is a sweet poignant love story. Their love grew slowly, but not to slow. The reader was able to see the true love that bloomed between these two characters.

I really enjoyed this book! It's the start of a new historical romance series.

Lenora has had 3 failed engagements. Peter, the duke, is hell bent on revenge. He was surprised to find a sad Lenora living with the woman who helped him years ago. Their relationship grew from there.

I really enjoyed both of the characters and I loved all the side characters as well. The setting of this story was gorgeous. The Isle of Synne seemed wonderful and I wish I could go!

I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Thank you netgalley for the early copy of this book
