Even better than the first book. Surprising and terrifying and brilliantly paced and plotted. I can't wait to find out how it all ends.

Coming hot off reading book one, I found Wayward to be a much stronger and interesting book.

Without spoilers, with the initial twist of book one now the central theme and plot device for book two, there are lots of questions and further mysteries to explore. Oh, add in a murder mystery to add weight.

The character of Ethan Burke continues to be fleshed out and his psyche explored now having more detailed information about how Wayward Pines works. Is he going to use this information to conform or is there more he needs to know?

My favourite thing about this book over the first is the delving into the mind and thoughts of all the characters who know why Wayward Pines is the way it is. It’s an extremely thought provoking topic and if you add in the looming threat it becomes more thriller/ horror than just a crazy “what if”.

The writing is just as good as before, the plot feels more well paced and everything seems to come together well for the final act.

Another massive cliff hanger means I’m onto book 3 very soon.

If you read Pines and wasn’t sure about carrying on, I’d recommend trying book 2 as it delves into the twist and characters with a lot more care and exploration.

i can now understand why thrillers/mysteries are usually not a series or trilogy.. because i’m having a really hard time continuing to care about what’s going on. can we just get to the point please? i’m bored.

LOVED THIS TRILOGY

My favourite of the trilogy thus far. Pines was a lot of world building and context setting. This follow up was exciting and we got some concrete answers to better understand Wayward Pines.
