This was such a fun read!!! I haven't finished a book in one day like this in a long time. I just couldn't put it down. It was incredibly.
I loved the representation! Not just queer rep (with multiple character using they/them pronouns) but also the disability rep!! I didn't even know this book had that until I started, so it was an amazing surprise. I don't have the same disability as the main character so I can't speak from experience, but I think the author did an amazing job.
I also loved that the main character worked backstage. There are so many stories where a character has a role in the play or musical, so it was a nice change to get a view of what happens backstage.
Jackson and Liam had great chemistry and it had me grinning from the start. They were super adorable together.
GOD, Jasmine annoyed me SO MUCH. I once even wanted to throw the book at a wall - but I didn't because I loved the book too much.
Also, shoutout to Bowie for being such an amazing best friend. They're so awesome.
There is so much more to say about this book, but I am still on the high of finishing a fantastic book

I really disliked Cam and came to dislike Dr. L. I wondered why Jackson didn't ask Denise for help with his portfolio.
Jasmine was unpleasant in that it seemed she demanded so much support from Jackson, and she did was give him rides to school in return. Liam was great as was Bowie. I thought Bowie was better family to Jackson than his birth family.
I thought the deaf rep was good, in that Jackson had to deal with the energy it took to read lips or use his hearing aids focusing on one speaker from all of the voices around him. I am not deaf, so others may find problems with the representation.
Brandon grew on me, Dude. Chayanne seemed to never be around when work needed to be done, so Bowie and Jackson ended up setting up, cleaning up, interacting with the venue and caterers. I'm glad they had each other for support.
I enjoyed listening to the book, though I don't know that I'll listen to this again.

I was liking this book enough to keep going. I thought the love story between the two mains was cute, and as a choir person, I felt especially connected to the theater aspects of this story. It really had me right up to the last
Like 3 chapters. The climax and falling action felt so abusive towards Jackson. I’d come to like him, and I felt everything came down on him like a hammer WAY too harshly for the crime. And Jasmine?? Don’t get me started. Villain of the century! So many characters essentially disowned Jackson because his sister aired out his lists… but who’s holding sister accountable?! Also the drama teacher immediately kicking him out for making very valid claims in his list that was obviously a cry for help? As a teacher, that’s unacceptable. Be butt hurt, talk to the kid, and move on.
The only character that was warranted in their anger and gave the appropriate reaction was Bowie. Everyone else responded so poorly. I’m honestly a little mad at the author for unnecessarily torturing the MC just to have him be the one to fall on his sword - especially towards Jasmine.
TL;DR: Cute, quick read until the very end.
