Just call me a sucker for a small girl, fiercely independent, and hell-bent on taking down her ex. Until she’s not. The love story between the large, grumpy lumberjack and his teeny spitfire of an ex-wife who fells him with her love like the lumberjack fella trees is a feel-good read with a little intrigue thrown in surrounding the business. Is it predictable? Yes. Did I care? Absolutely not. I enjoyed the read and look forward to continuing the series

⭐Book Review ⭐

Pain in the Axe

⭐⭐⭐⭐

While I’m not usually drawn to accidental pregnancy tropes, I decided to give this one a chance because I’m a big fan of Daphne Elliott’s writing. The first book in the series was fantastic and left us on a cliffhanger, eagerly anticipating the sequel.

You never know what will unfold when exes are brought together, and this story doesn’t disappoint. It starts with a bang, pulling you right into the drama. I thoroughly enjoyed the way the characters bickered, interacted, and the chemistry between them was absolutely sizzling. Daphne skillfully introduces the backstory bit by bit, adding an element of mystery that keeps you hooked, with even more secrets waiting to be uncovered in the overarching plot.

I allso appreciated how she allowed the characters to evolve throughout the story, showing the impact they had on each other. It was refreshing to see their growth. Now, I’m eagerly anticipating the next couple and where this storyline will take us next.

Oh and CLIVE!!!
