I would say let's talk about this book but it was honestly so boring and pointless that it feels like there was nothing to talk about. A former NFL player faces a moral decision with his ex-wife in a coma. Lackluster romance scenes, a boring plot, and characters I couldn't give a crap about... this book should have just been a DNF.

Side note: Sandra Brown has written 270 books according to Goodreads ... I feel like there must be some ghostwriting happening and they need to find some better people to generate any future stories.

I read 60% of this book and I don’t know how I made it that far. I could summarize what happened in 240 pages in 3 sentences.

Probably 3.5 stars? I haven't read a Sandra Brown novel in a long time and I really enjoyed the first one I read so I was excited to read another one of her books. There wasn't a terrible amount of suspense and there was little action, but the one action scene kept me on my toes. There was more romance than I thought there would be and it kind of fell flat for me. There was not really any lead up to why they were attracted to each other and it seemed a little bit like instalove. The POV chapters with Eban were so frustrating in that he was literally the worst person ever, but I liked those chapters being included. Overall, I feel like this was an okay plot. Some of the romance stuff seemed out of place and detracted from the thriller aspect but it was still pretty decent.

Was a 3.5 til the end turned out better than I thought. Murder mystery with romance thrown in - would say one of Browns better books

Interesting premise, but the execution was meh. Uninteresting characters, I just didn’t care about what happened to them.

Thought provoking, steamy, intense. Loved it!
