The Constant Princess is definitely my favourite book by Philippa Gregory - mainly due to Catherine and Arthur's relationship. Whenever I re-read the book I'm always in love with their love and passion - although I've read many books on the Tudors, I've never really considered Catherine and Arthur to be of much interest. This book completely converted me.
Although yes, their marriage might not have been as Gregory illustrates it in the novel. But it's historical FICTION, and I think her spin on the events is magical.
Please please read this book, it will make you fall in love with the idea of love and remind you why Gregory has the reputation she does.
It's so easy to read that you practically live and breathe the story until the end.

This is my first Gregory book plus I kinda cheated since I listened to the audiobook (Jill Tanner's narration is awesome by the way). But despite all of that I really enjoyed this story. Catalina's story was great from start to finish. For me this was a fine introduction into Gregory's Tudor novels and I would totally recommend it especially for anyone who is interested in learning a little something about English (and Spanish) history.

This was another book in Philippa Gregory's Tudor Series (remember [b:The Other Boleyn Girl|37470|The Other Boleyn Girl|Philippa Gregory|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51GRhNMuStL._SL75_.jpg|3248536]). It took place prior to the Other Boleyn Girl as it recalled Queen Katherine of England's life (she was Henry VIII's first wife).

The story was intriguing as it incorporates historical facts into a work of fiction. In the Other Boleyn Girl, Katherine was not considered to be a heroine by any means, but [b:The Constant Princess|92303|The Importance of Being Earnest|Oscar Wilde|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1171245439s/92303.jpg|649216] makes the reader fond of her and her many hardships. Gregory has a charming style of writing that drones on at times but always captures my attention. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the Tudor series, but hopefully in chronological order this time...

I liked "The Other Boleyn Girl", so I decided to start chronologically with Gregorys novels with The Constant Princess. I thought it had a slow start then picked up and read easily until about the last quarter of the book. Definitely not as interesting (or scandalous) as TOBG so it won't make me want to read the rest of the novels in a hurry except for The Boleyn Inheritance.
