This book was good enough for me to want to read the third. I kind of like that Day bows out. It's dumb and predictable, but I think any idiot who does that is...well, and idiot. Anden seems nice. For the third book, Lu should NOT have Anden betray June so that she ends back up with Day. That is probably what people want, but the bond between Day and June really hasn't been forged convincingly. Make Anden terrific and sexy, and all is good in the Republic hood.

Getting back into this series so long after I read the first book I think is part of the reason why I didn't enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed the first.
