Superb.

It felt a little too long by the end but overall I enjoyed the story and the characters. I applaud the author for not only writing historical fiction on the Jane network, thereby making it more well known, but covering the varying aspects so delicately and honestly. I felt, with every page, this was accurate. The timing of the one birth was a little too “Lifetime” but that is my only complaint.

I encourage everyone to read this book especially with what is currently happening with women’s rights in so many countries right now.

I enjoyed this fictional tale of the real-life Jane Network. At times it felt a little contrived, but for the most part it was well written and gave solid perspective on women's reproductive  health in a pre-Roe v Wade era.

An inspiring, powerful, thought-provoking, deeply humanizing book.

All You Have To Do Is Call by Kerri Maher is a historical novel about the courageous efforts of Jane Collective, also known as Jane. An underground organisation which provided women with safe, clean abortions in Chicago in the 1970s.

This book centres on 3 women Veronica, Patty and Margaret. How they navigate their life through personal and professional struggles. These women find solidarity, a refuge in this organisation.

Veronica, being the leader of Jane, clearly presents us with the dilemma of a woman whose head and heart are in her work. This organisation's sole purpose is to liberate women by helping them take control of their bodies. They fight for the reproductive rights.

Kerri Maher is a brilliant writer. She took this sensitive topic and dealt with it with utter care. I find myself engrossed in it. The novel is fast-paced, and every second, we fear for the safety of these women.

This book talks about female friendships and how empowering that is. If one woman is more free, all women are more free. It will be a beautiful world when a woman starts standing for each other. Gone will be the days when it was said women are the worst enemies of women.
