I loved the art, the surreal story here, very enjoyable, and the garden scene is great.
Chaotic but fun as hell!! No loose ends, all questions answered.
Whilst I did enjoy this, I felt it was rather dragged out. Would have enjoyed seeing more of Mara's darker side. Did enjoy the ending.
i give it 4.5/5 stars. i don’t typically like sequels or trilogies or anything other than standalone mainly because i have a short attention span. However, this book was really good and changed my opinion on series. i enjoyed it just a little more than i did the first book. The ending characterization of Mara was expected but i still didn’t like it. I really wish i could see more of mara and cole maybe a few years down the line. However i really enjoyed seeing mara and cole actually in a relationship. They’re so cute.
I could go on and on about this book, but here’s the gist: This is hands down the sweetest serial killer romance I’ve ever read—and trust me, I've read enough to have a baseline for that comparison. Cole and Mara are absolutely to die for in this story. Their dynamic? Unbeatable. I’m obsessed with them together. There's almost a campy feel to their romance, but it works so well, providing a lightness that balances the darker, heavier topics tied to their backstories.
We get a ton of answers in this half of their journey, and the payoff is huge. Mara has truly blossomed into her new life. The strength she’s found, not just in surviving but in expressing herself through her art, is incredibly empowering.
And Cole. Oh, Cole. I don’t even need to say more. Just… Cole.

I finished the duo, but it was a struggle for me personally. I stopped caring about the main characters, but pushed through.

This book left much to be desired, it doesn't even look like a continuation of the first book. The male characters completely changes from 0 to 100 and the female character development also changed too fast.

I really enjoyed this duet. At first it started off a bit slow for me but it gained my interest shortly in & grew from there. I liked both Mara & Cole individually but also together. Cole really pushed Mara & her boundaries to help her grow whereas Mara's influence on him was more subtle & gradual. Both of them grew not only as a couple but individuals & I liked seeing that. Overall the plot wasn't super complicated or anything but it was unique in its own way & had layers to it. I enjoyed getting to know each layer little by little until the whole picture was there. I wish the ending had been a little more drawn out & the epilogue extended I feel like it could be a little open ended for maybe future books & I'd love to read more about them if there ever are.
