So far my favorite in the series. I wasn’t sure what to expect since we didn’t know much of Akiko from the previous books. Definitely not what I expected and loved it.

I seriously cannot get over how amazing and unique these books are. This one, much like Born of Earth, tackles something else we hardly ever see in urban fantasy (or at least something I haven't seen before). It's steeped in Japanese lore and magic, and it's such a great read. I'm so happy I found this series. Please read them!

I didn't care for this book of this series at all. Not in the same vein as the others.

This was intriguing, I never really cared much for Aikiko but now I think I do.

Great series!

I am just loving this series, and this author. The stories are full of excitement and drama, with little love woven in. So worth reading!

Another book that holds you captive to the end!

What I really like about this series is that even though the girls are all best friends and are all going through something supernatural, each one has a different story that is COMPLETELY different from the others. Like, NO similarities, yet ALL of the books are ahhhmaaazzing!!! Exploring the aether in this novel took me places I’ve never been through all of the thousands of paranormal and fantasy books I’ve read in my life. I absolutely LOVE that!!

My favorite elemental origin story so far! Akiko’s story is heartbreaking. I loved the setting in Japan and the traditional Japanese folklore characters such as the Kitsune. I hope Akiko’s story is continued in the future. I’m moving onto the next elemental origin story, Air, next.
